Growing up with amazing parents who taught me about the goodness and love of God from the time I can remember, I had the optimal opportunity for a perfect life. But don’t you know, no matter where you come from or how you grow up, each of us has this little problem with our moral compass. Sure enough, mine was broken too and it kept a life of peace with God just out of reach. Fortunately, my parents and church family were patient with me. And even more important, so was my Heavenly Father. They continued to teach me the right way and God continued to draw me to Himself. As I grew, I often took two steps forward and one (or three) backward. But God had a plan for my life when He created me and He never gave up on His plan. Jesus saved me at a young age, but over the years I have had to give my life back to Jesus often. Now I realize, I just need to surrender to Him pretty much every day.
The more I submit to God, the more I enjoy discovering His beautiful plan for my life. I see it through my family (beautiful wife Jen and three great young men growing up in my home: Milan, Josiah and Ben), through my church family and through my personal times with Him. God has been so good to us. Right now, I am enjoying my role at the wheel of this amazing gathering of people called LifeBridge.
Even though there have been some very dark valleys in this life, God has always brought me through to a glorious new mountain view on the other side. I will surely see more valleys, and I know there will be more mountaintops to experience. But what really keeps me going is the promise that the final destination will be the best mountaintop ever, WITH Him forever. For now, the journey continues, until that great and glorious day.
